Having lived in both England and Australia, my paintings are expressions of my emotions and visual memories of the natural landscapes within which I have lived and travelled – stripping back line and form they create an ethereal and atmospheric sense, at times other-worldly; whilst my drawings are much more representational of the world we inhabit – wildlife and people – most often from my own photographic reference images whilst travelling. In both my paintings and drawings I like to create a strong sense of drama and mood through the use of light, and contrast.

I am curious about what is within each of us – our subconscious – how we see and interpret experiences and situations, and how this resonates differently within us. My work often evokes a connection to a place or emotion within the viewer, prompting conversations about personal experiences, memories and thoughts – the human condition.

Emma Price is both a realism pencil artist and an abstract landscape painter, living and working in Surrey. 

She exhibits regularly at Art Fairs and galleries around the country; she is an Associate member of The Society of Graphic Fine Art (The Drawing Society UK). She was a winner at the prestigious David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation - Wildlife Artist of the Year Awards 2024 (Mall Galleries), in the Earth’s Wild Beauty category, with judges comments saying they are bold and refreshing works, moving away from the traditional and expected landscape depictions; she was also highly commended in the same category in 2023; Emma was shortlisted for the Women in Art Prize 2023; and also appeared on SkyArts Landscape Artist of the Year 2024 discussing gin-tasting with Stephen Mangan! Her work is held in private collections around the world.

Emma initially undertook a Foundation Fine Art Degree before completing a Bachelor of Graphic Design in 1993. Although having a successful design career in both Australia and England, as a magazine Art/Creative Director across leading women’s titles – in 2019 Emma left the publishing world to pursue her fine arts career.
