Beverley Matchette-Downes' current practice is dominated by printmaking which she fell in love with after a Masters' Degree in it in 2010.  She has always been interested in composition and pictorial space.   She frequently (but not always) uses her own photography from which to draw and paint.  Her work is usually drawn from tangible figurative things in the world around her, however she invariable abstracts them in an attempt to make them visually more interesting and her own.  Recent work is part of a collaboration with a Poet called Alison K Jones who commissioned her to illustrate an anthology of her psycho-geographical poetry.  This project is ongoing. 

Biography and Exhibitions

Beverley Matchette-Downes graduated in 2007 with a BA (Hons) 2:1 in Fine Art specialising in Painting from Buckinghamshire and Chilterns University and then an MA in Printmaking (Distinction) from Buckinghamshire New University in 2010.
