These two small prints are part of an ongoing preoccupation I have with clothes, how, why and where we wear them, how they unite and devide us. these two are concerned with how they can influence us.

Thérèse Cooper is a printmaker born in London 1946 now living in Hampshire. She studied at Sutton and Walthamstow Schools of Art and gained a BA(Hons) from Essex University in English and American Literature.

From the mid 1980s to the early 2000s Cooper, (as Min Cooper), worked as a cartoonist and illustrator contributing feature, pocket and strip cartoons to national and international for national and international newspapers including, The Guardian, The Independent, The Times, Prospect, New Statesman among others. The V&A hold one of here pieces.

From strip cartoons she moved into animation making films which were shown and awarded prizes from Moondance (USA) Best of British, Bristol, Annecy, Berlin, and Zebra Poetry Festivals.When Animation transitioned from film to computer production Cooper learned a new ,and at the time exciting, technique. 

From animation she moved digital print making work that was shown and sold through galleries such as, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, SWA at the Mall Galleries as well as several galleries in Southern England.

Now having moved to Hampshire she has reclaimed her name and progressed to more traditional print means enjoying the more direct and involved techniques of etching, dry point, linocut and silkscreen.
