Victoria Sills has always been motivated by the use of drawing in her practice, this is often used as a springboard to develop work into prints, paintings or mixed media compositions, sometimes using digital and ai technology as part of her process. 

Although the work can appear minimal, there is a sense of strong emotion to it, often trying to capture the character and essence of the subject with a series of expressive marks and a limited palette within a confined space. 

Her most recent paintings have explored subjects such as loneliness, isolation & mental health issues.  Victoria is interested in making contemporary art accessible to wider audiences by using traditional techniques.

Victoria Sills (b.1977) is an artist and graduate of the University of Brighton and The Other MA. She currently resides and works from her studio on the coast of Essex. Victoria works across multiple disciplines, primarily with paint, print & drawing using traditional methods to explore contemporary subjects such as mental health in an ever-increasing technological world.
