I am an oil painter based in Sheffield, creating impressionistic landscape, animal and still life paintings. Working both in the studio and directly from life, I paint alla prima to capture the immediacy of the moment and respond instinctively to light, form and atmosphere.

Much of my work begins outdoors, where I observe and interpret the shifting moods of the landscape. Alongside this, I maintain a still life practice in the studio, using everyday objects and natural elements to explore playful narratives through composition and light.

My aim is not to replicate a scene, but to convey a sense of place and the emotional tone it evokes. Through bold and varied brushwork and a focus on light, I invite the viewer to step into each painting and experience the moment as I felt it. My practice is driven by a deep appreciation for nature and a desire to foster a more thoughtful, connected relationship with the land and the life it sustains.

Greta is a Lithuanian-British oil painter who captures light-filled landscape, floral, figurative and animal paintings that tug at the heartstrings. She became a full-time artist after leaving her previous career in Neuroscience and receiving an Arts Council grant to paint the English farmland. Greta has won multiple awards and regularly exhibits her work in local and national exhibitions, notably with the Society of Women Artists, Chelsea Art Society and the Royal Cambrian Academy.
